I’m Nina Nelson, a marketing strategist, designer, and storyteller.
I started House Nelson because I’ve spent enough time around small businesses to know that most owners don’t need another person telling them to post more, launch more, or “just get on social media.”
They need someone who can step back, look at the whole picture, and figure out what actually matters.
That’s what I do.
I help business owners clarify what they offer, communicate it well, and build simple marketing systems that support the business they’re trying to create.
Sometimes that means strategy.
Sometimes it means a website.
Sometimes it means finally getting the email marketing system you’ve been meaning to build for three years.
And sometimes it means having someone you trust say, “You don’t actually need to do that.”
Strategy before stuff.
I believe good marketing starts with understanding—not adding more.
Before we talk about platforms, funnels, websites, or campaigns, I want to understand your business.
- What are you building?
- Who are you trying to serve?
- What makes your business different?
- Where do you want it to go?
And perhaps most importantly:
What do you want your business to make possible in your life?
Because a business can be successful on paper and still be a terrible business to own.
I’m interested in helping you build the kind that works for you.
Why House Nelson?
The name is personal.
A house is more than a structure. It’s a place where people live, work, make things, gather, tell stories, and build something that lasts.
That’s how I think about business, too.
Your business is something you’re building with your time, your creativity, your resources, and your life.
It should be worthy of the life you’re giving it.
House Nelson is a small creative studio built around that belief.
I work with a limited number of businesses at a time, offering strategic marketing guidance, creative direction, and hands-on implementation when it’s useful.
No bloated agency model.
No unnecessary complexity.
No marketing for marketing’s sake.
Just thoughtful strategy and good work.
A little about me
I’m an Italophile who believes in building a life around what matters most. I’m also obsessed with miniature horses.
My background sits at the intersection of marketing, design, writing, and storytelling.
I’ve worked on everything from brand messaging and websites to email marketing, digital strategy, and creative direction.
I’m endlessly interested in the question underneath all of it:
How do we communicate something in a way that makes another person understand why it matters?
That’s the heart of good marketing.
And I still love making things.
Beautiful things. Useful things. Things that make an idea clearer.
That’s probably why I have a hard time choosing between strategy and design.
Fortunately, I don’t think I have to.
If you’re building something good…
…and you want your marketing to support it without taking over your life, I’d love to hear about it.
